This past week I tried dropshipping with Organic TikTok, and all I can say is that the experience opened so many doors. It was also surprisingly fun.
Let us talk about dropshipping. Is it dead? Is it alive? No one can say for sure. It’s like Schroedinger’s cat and all we can do is shake the box and see what happens. That’s why I took the challenge to try dropshipping again and hopefully become a millionaire.
Spoiler alert: I am not a millionaire. At least not yet.
Day One
Unlike most dropshipping gurus, I did not jump out of bed at 6am and hit the gym before heading to work. I got up at 1am after sleeping in and procrastinated before going to work.
And so began the first and most tedious step in this whole process: finding a product and researching it. I am exhausted just thinking about it.
Hours of scrolling through the same products and hoping the dropshipping gods bless you with a product that will go viral.
I know some apps make this whole process easier. But most of them cost money and I wanted to spend as little as possible on this challenge. But if you have the money, I would recommend apps like dropship.io or pipi ads.
Day Two
Once I found a product, it was time to customize our store.
Oh, the misery.
I am just kidding, it’s not that bad. But it is time consuming and takes its toll. I just never have a clear picture of how I want to present my brand. I opt for black backgrounds and white text or vice versa. I mean, that’s the safest way to go. I do not want customers to burn their eyes when they open my store.
Day Three – Day Nine
Now it was time to order the product and start filming my own TikToks. Fortunately, I owned the product I was going to dropship, so I did not have to spend any extra money or time.
But I have a confession to make…
I am addicted to TikTok.
That was not a bad thing in this challenge, because since I knew the app inside and out, it was easier to use it for my product. I was able to jump on different trends and put my own stamp on them.
I was posting almost 10 TikToks a day.

Unfortunately, none of them went viral. But they still had a big audience and a lot of engagement.

These results are only from a few days when I posted them, which is pretty impressive if you ask me.
The only problem I have encountered with TikTok is that you can not post a website in your bio until you reach 1,000 followers. I blame that on my lack of sales. No one wants to search for a website and I doubt they use the URL for search.

Screenshot of disappointment
Yep, still no sales. Not a single one!
But why?
You ask me that? I do not know. Well, I have my suspicions. One of them is a terrible website design that could have been much better. I mean, I rushed it and thought it looked great.
The second reason? I did not run any ads. Yes, I am a real dolt, but this was an organic dropshipping challenge, remember? And I am not unhappy with the organic traffic my site got.
The third reason? My TikTok account probably sucked, too.
The fourth reason? I did not give my account more time to mature and possibly spread. Maybe I’ll give it a few more days before scrapping the whole place.
Although I did not make any sales, I can say I learned a lot SO Much .
I realized how addictive the app is. Not only for the viewers but also for the creators. I love creating TikToks now. When I hear a particular audio from TikToks, I immediately think of how I can use it to create my own TikTok. I run to my phone and record tons of videos in no time. And I have fun doing it.
It’s weird, but it’s so exciting to upload something to TikTok. Seeing people interact with your post and enjoy the moment with you.
That’s why this app is perfect for dropshipping.
If you can get your products right on TikTok, you might be well on your way to making six figures.
I would recommend starting organically and adding ads later.
I wish everyone who wants to start a business the best of luck and thank you for listening to my journey.
